Our spies caught VW testing the upcoming facelifted Amarok pickup truck out in the cold in Sweden.

VW’s pickup truck is going to receive a visual update that will bring it in line with the rest of the range.

That translates into new headlights, front grille and bumper, giving the Amarok a more modern face in the same context as the new Tiguan while the cabin is also scheduled for a much-needed overhaul, judging by the cover on the dash.

Expect better quality materials, new infotainment systems and the latest array of off-road and safety systems which debuted in the latest Tiguan SUV.

VW is also going to apply a series of updates to the existing engine line-up and there is even the possibility of a new engine. The new 2017 VW Amarok is expected to be revealed in late 2016.
