This styling exercise tries to imagine what Lamborghini's next flagship supercar might look like.

It's named the Matador and it's the work of Swiss designer Timon Sager who came up with a front end that reminds us of the Huracan, along with a roof made entirely out of glass,  rearview cameras that replace the side mirrors and fighter jet-inspired tailpipes, all wrapped in a body that looks more compact.


Finding out what engineers have in store for the Aventador's replacement is challenging, but the current supercar could be the last of its kind, as it's powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 in a segment that's dominated by turbocharged models.

Since its predecessor, the Murcielago, was produced for nine years and with the Aventador presented at the 2011 Geneva show,  a replacement for the Huracan's larger, more powerful and more expensive brother is not due until the end of the decade, at the very best.



In fact, Sant'Agata Bolognese execs have placed their focus on a very different model now, a production version of the Urus. The SUV, which will become the third model in Lamborghini's lineup, is expected to debut in 2018 and will share its underpinnings with the Bentley Bentayga and Audi Q7.
