Every time BMW comes out with a new M model, it’s almost certain to join their fleet of MotoGP safety and support vehicles, with the Germans now creating a one-off hardcore version of their M2 coupe.

It was made not only to keep MotoGP motorcyclists safe, but also to parade the brand’s M Performance parts catalog for the M2, as well as the division’s capabilities with a few prototype components.

For its role on the track, the M2 MotoGP Safety Car was fitted with a number of race-spec components, ranging from a roll cage, Recaro seats and a fire distinguisher inside, to LED strobe lights and special Michelin Cup tires.
