The boutique German sports car maker is officially back, after the two British investors secured the legal protection of their purchase. The company was recently purchased by brothers Roheen and Sahir Berry and after a long and troubled period which involved a court and an individual opposing to the sale, Wiesmann is ready to be revived.

Anita Tatalovic said to Auto Moto und Sport that their plans for the company are delayed thanks to the recent legal uncertainty but now they are excited to work on a new sports car that will come out of the company’s manufacturing plant in Dülmen in late 2016.

The new owners said that they will work closely together with the company’s founders, brothers Martin and Friedhelm Wiesmann.

For those of you who don’t know much about Wiesmann and its models, the company was making retro-looking lightweight two-seater sports cars that used BMW’s finest powertrains, resulting in some of the most impressive cars you’ve probably never heard of.

There is no info on what the new car might be, but we expect Wiesmann to use the same recipe since the founders of the company are still related to Wiesmann.
