Jaguar revealed one of the angriest models in its history, the 567hp F-Type SVR at the Geneva Motor Show. Jaguar’s halo F-Type will be available both in coupe and convertible versions, offering 567hp (575PS) and 516lb ft (700Nm) of torque from its supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine.

The SVR department of JLR managed not only to make the F-Type more powerful, but also slightly lighter, partly thanks to a new lightweight exhaust system made out of titanium and Inconel.

All in all, the new Jaguar F-Type SVR is 25kg lighter than an AWD F-Type R, with the figure showing 50 kg less when optioned with the carbon ceramic brakes and a carbon fiber roof.

The slightly modified eight-speed auto gearbox now shifts even faster, allowing the all-wheel drive F-Type SVR to accelerate to 60mph in just 3.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 200mph (320km/h) for the coupe and 195mph (313km/h) for the convertible.

SVR also fettled with the all-wheel drive system, in particular with the rear electronic active differential to better distribute the torque and work in conjunction with the DSC system.

The new aero agenda of the F-Type SVR might not gain positive views by fans of the original model, but Jaguar says that everything, from the redesigned front bumper to the rear wing and diffuser is there to smooth airflow and generate more downforce.
