Rimac Automobili has presented its 1088hp all-electric Concept_One model with the production specs at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Only eight units of the Croatian hypercar will be available, six of them have already been sold.

The Rimac Concept_One uses a powertrain divided into four sub-systems. Each system consists of a separate electric powertrain with an independent inverter, motor and gearbox for each wheel of the car. It enables the Concept_One to control each wheel independently, hundreds of times each second, in both directions.

RIMAC CONCEPT_ONE: THE 1088HP ALL-ELECTRIC BEAST

As stated, each motor of the Concept_One has its own gearbox. Single-speed gearboxes for the front motors while the rear ones have a two-speed double-clutch gearbox.

The car’s battery pack is designed to deliver 1MW of power during acceleration and to absorb 400 kW during braking and, also, for demanding track-use, high power delivery and safety. It was obtained thanks to a unique liquid thermal management and low-resistance conducting system.


The result of the hard work of the guys at Rimac, it’s a completely electric hypercar able to develop a maximum output of 1088 hp (1073bhp) and 1600NM (1180 lb-ft) of torque.

Although a dry weight of 1,850kg or 4080 pounds, the Concept_One’s powerful electric motors can move the car to a top speed of 220 mph (355 km/h) while it can break the 62 mph barrier in just 2.6 seconds.
